Six magic weapons to improve the service life of diesel engine cylinder liner !!!!

2018 12/06

1. Properly maintain and maintain the air filter
Failure of the air filter system will result in the wear of the cylinder liner, which will greatly reduce the life of the cylinder liner, so there is a high requirement for air filtration, and a multi-stage high efficiency air filter is required.
Always check and clean the dust of each part to ensure that it is clean inside and outside, and replace the damaged parts in time to avoid the abrasive particles entering the cylinder liner. Ensure the tightness of the filter and suction hose connections and ensure that there is no air leak between the compressor compressor outlet and the cylinder head.
2, the control of machine temperature
The corrosion wear of the liner depends to a large extent on the operating temperature of the diesel engine. Tests have shown that when the coolant temperature drops to 40-50 ° C, the cylinder liner wear will be 5-6 times the normal wear amount, and mainly corrosion wear, so keep the cooling system operating temperature does not exceed 90 ° C, will greatly limit Sulfur-containing vapor condenses on the wall of the liner to reduce corrosion.
3. Selection of quality and viscosity of diesel engine lubricating oil
The diesel engine should be selected according to the instruction manual for the oil of the above grades of CC and CD, that is, according to the strengthening strength of the diesel engine and the working environment temperature.
4. Cavitation and antifreeze coolant on the outer surface of the cylinder liner
The gas in the cylinder is burned, and the piston will swing left and right in addition to the reciprocating linear motion in the cylinder, causing the cylinder liner to vibrate severely. At this time, the cooling water in contact with the cylinder liner generates bubbles under vibration. The outer circle of the long cylinder sleeve generates a lot of pitting, and gradually enlarges to form a hole, which leads to penetrating the cylinder wall. In order to prevent cavitation in the cylinder liner, in addition to the measures taken in design and manufacture, the following work should be done from the perspective of maintenance and repair:

1) Reduce the impact of the piston on the cylinder liner. Under the condition of ensuring basic lubrication, the clearance between the piston and the cylinder liner should be as small as possible, and the verticality of the center of the cylinder liner should be ensured during assembly.
2) Pay attention to the selection and replacement of antifreeze coolant. Use qualified products with good anti-corrosion and anti-corrosion performance. Always check it during use. The replacement time should not exceed two years.
5. Correct installation and use of cylinder liner, piston rod set and crankshaft combination group
It should be carried out in strict accordance with the provisions of the diesel engine operating instructions. Firstly, ensure the cleanliness of the cylinder liner and the body and the assembly clearance of each component. The weight of each piston and connecting rod of the same diesel engine should be as uniform as possible, not to exceed the tolerance, and ensure the tightening torque of various bolts and nuts. value.
During the use of the crankshaft combination group, it is necessary to pay attention to whether the torsional vibration damper fails, and whether the bearing clearance is out of tolerance to avoid abnormal vibration of the crankshaft and accelerate the early wear of the piston rod set and the cylinder liner.
6, reasonable choice of running-in specifications
Before the new machine or the overhauled diesel engine is used, it must be run-in according to the instructions in the instruction manual. After the general running-in operation for 60 hours, it can be put into full load. The purpose of running-in is to improve the working condition of each moving part of the diesel engine, improve reliability and service life. During the running-in period, the load should be 50%-80%, and the rotating speed should be no more than 80%. It should also be noted that it should not be operated under idle conditions for a long time. Be sure to change the oil carefully after the running-in is completed. Avoid high idle conditions and overload operation during normal use.
